On 12 December, the research groups of the Törökszentmiklósi Mezőgazdasági Zrt’s Pannon Breeding GINOP 2.2.1-15-2017-00042 program held a research day in Almásy Mansion. Since the launch of the research program it has become a tradition that representatives of the research groups of the consortium members draw a balance on the prorated fulfilment of the program’s goals at the end of the research year. At the meeting, all 22 research groups presented their work and results in a brief presentation.
The event is primarily aimed at providing information for the leading researchers, project management and consortium leaders about the results and status of the work of the different research groups, while research groups also get acquainted with each other’s work.
The goal of research - beyond its scientific results - is to develop certain products. As a result of the program, drought tolerant cereals, highly resistant roses, annuals, perennials and garden trees will be selected. In addition, drought-tolerant grass seed mixtures and phytoremediation plants are being developed.
The consortium management attaches great importance to scientific exchange and to sharing experience. Overall, the program continues according to schedule, changes have been managed through the project management. The program has successfully completed two official controls. The program will continue next year as planned.
