The Derby and Fashion Festival, one of the country's most elegant outdoor events, took place between 5 and 7 July. This year the event was held over three days in Kincsem Park. On Sunday, the 102nd Derby took place, with several different races taking place throughout the day. Three of the races featured horses from Szenttamási Ménes. Short Circuit does not like the heat, but he still achieved a cash ranking. He finished sixth, not too far from the winner. The Little T caused the first, minor surprise. Martin Laube had a huge finish on his back and finished second with him in the Mezőhegyes Prize. The star of the day for us was definitely Merci Star, who was the wide favourite and scattered the 2800m Ministry of Defence prize in great style. Merci did not lie about her pedigree. Her dam, Miss Turpan, was also an outstanding horse for the Szenttamás stable. She won the Patriot Award, the Alagi Award, and was only two lengths behind the winner in the Derby. Merci Star and her dam, represent the most classy family at Szenttamás.
