The war in Ukraine has created a new situation for the two major logistics developments in the Záhony region – mentioned for Világgazdaság by Mr. László Mosóczi, Secretary of State for Transport Policy. A terminal specializing in transshipment of containers from China and the Far East is planned to be located here, but the destruction of the railway section between Russia and Ukraine has made transport impossible.
At the same time, grain produced for export in Ukraine cannot leave the country’s Black Sea ports, so it can currently be transported through Záhony, from where it is transported to the port of Constanta at the moment.
