New investment of Törökszentmiklósi Mezőgazdasági Ltd. was made in the region
L.A.C. Törökszentmiklósi Mezőgazdasági Ltd., a member of the holding group, moved its dairy farm to the neighbouring Szenttamási dairy farm established in 2021 during a large-scale reconstruction process.
The handover ceremony of modern dairy farming took place on 11th of March.
The event was held in Szenttamási Castle and Park, where Minister of Agriculture Mr. István Nagy and Member of Parliament Mr. Sándor F. Kovács gave speeches. Mr. László Horváth, President and CEO of the L.A.C. Holding Ltd., in his speech, said that one of the main goals of the reconstruction was to create a modern, environmentally conscious plant and to fully automate the processes, including the transition to robotic milking. During his speech, it was stated that the new plant will enable infrastructural and logistical development and that they will produce a high-quality product under their own brand name – ’Szenttamási tej’ - in close cooperation with the Szenttamási dairy.
The Minister of Agriculture Mr. István Nagy spoke at the handover about the fact that the government will continue to increase the economic strength of rural Hungary in order to further the dynamic development of agriculture and the food industry by providing unprecedented resources. An unprecedented amount for all this, together with the 80% national additional resource, is available for a total of HUF 4,265 billion for rural development between 2021 and 2027. The Renewable Countryside and Renewable Agriculture program, launched with the help of this, aims at the complete modernization of agriculture and food production, which is the backbone of the Hungarian rural economy, added by the head of the ministry. The Minister emphasized that this development, which was handed over today, also proves that it is worth thinking about the possibilities inherent in agriculture.
TM Ltd. won a grant of HUF 445,598,592 for the complex investment through a tender.
It has been said that as a result of the design, a milking system using automated robotics has been developed using state-of-the-art housing technology, which not only minimizes the possibility of defects and improves the well-being of the goods, as the cow decides when to go to the milking but also has a positive effect on the quality and quantity of milk. By ’ATK VI.’ tender funds and several self-propelled milking robots were installed. Animal welfare conditions are provided by manure extractors, waterers, back scrapers and waterbed mattresses to the great satisfaction of dairy cows and animal caretakers.
The herd with an average of 485 Holstein Friesian dairy cows and their breeding is capable of producing 4 million litres of milk per year, which is a significant amount in the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok region.
As the final thought of the speeches, it was mentioned that the production of good quality and controlled Hungarian food is one of the key goals of TM Ltd., and a significant contribution to strengthening the region's population retention capacity and its connection to a work-based society.
Following the speeches, the colony was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon. Then, participants also could view the dairy farm’s new building, innovative technology, and partially renovated roads and pavements.
