China International Import Expo has been held three times since 2018. CECZ attaches great importance to this grand event and participated in all three times.
This year’s China International Import Expo, due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the most eye-catching national pavilions in previous years (including the China National Pavilion and the Hungary National Pavilion) were not built separately, and only few government officials, representatives of business associations and entrepreneurs from various countries participated in the exhibition.
An online stream platform was used for live broadcasts
Under such circumstances, CECZ gave full play to its advantages. In addition to attending the exhibition, the "Hungarian Ministry of Innovation and Technology Pavilion" was also on the site, CECZ cooperated with EOVOBO Online Technology to produce two live broadcasts for the CIIE, to introduce the general situation of Hungary, Central European Trade and Logistics Cooperation Zone(CECZ), Central European Logistics Industrial Zone(CELIZ), and let the colleagues and partners from Hungary and Central and Eastern European countries who can’t be there to keep abreast of the event.
On November 4, the opening ceremony of the 3rd China International Import Expo was held in Shanghai. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech via video. In his speech, President Xi said that "No matter what risks, disasters, or adversities are encountered, human society will always move forward, and it will certainly continue to move forward. The general trend of countries opening up and toward cooperation has not changed. We must jointly respond to risks and challenges, strengthen cooperation and communication. Let the Chinese market become the world’s market, a shared market, and everyone’s market, and inject more positive energy into the international community. The current world economic development is facing severe challenges. We must strengthen our confidence and courage to overcome the difficulties together. China is willing to work with other countries to create opportunities in opening up, solve problems in cooperation, and work together to create a better tomorrow for mankind.

Hungarian Prime Minister Mr. Viktor Orbán said in his speech that this CIIE held in a special period. The epidemic told us that countries must respect one another in international relations, otherwise the challenges will become more severe. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that Hungary is committed to strengthening cooperation with China and countries along the route. The joint construction of the “Belt and Road” is more important than ever.
On the 5th, Huang Zhiqiang, Vice Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, led the heads of the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments visited our booth. General Manager Tian Hongbing introduced the exhibition area of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology of Hungary, CECZ and CELIZ to Vice Chairman Huang and his colleagues. Vice Chairman Huang showed great concern about the China Railway Express, and asked about the situation of our train passing through Erenhot, and made it clear that he hoped that the two rail change centers of Erenhot and Zahony, Hungary would strengthen interaction, to seek common development and to cooperate together.
On the same day, Lv Wei, Deputy Director-General of Department of Commerce of of Shandong Province visited our booth, looked around each exhibition area from various angles, listened to the introduction and report of Mr. Tian in a comprehensive way, and very readily accepted our live broadcast of the interview.
On the same day, Zhao Fang, Deputy Director of Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Commerce; Zhang Hanbo, Deputy Director of Beijing Tongzhou District Bureau of Commerce, and other government officials, as well as Gao Yingqiang, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Jiaoyun Modern Logistics Co., Ltd., and Tong Fang,Operations Director of Yiqiao Data Technology and other 20-30 entrepreneurs also visited our booth.
On the 6th, Wang Ande, Secretary of the Linyi Municipal Party Committee of Shandong Province, and Jiang Shili, Minister of the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee of Shandong Province, and other officials in charge of Linyi’s party and government came to visit the exhibition areas of our booth and listened to the detailed introduction by General Manager Tian Hongbing. Secretary Wang said that under the current situation, enterprises are facing not only development issues but also survival issues, and the way to solve these problems is to innovate and increase "going abroad" efforts. For this reason, Linyi enterprises, especially multinational enterprises, must have the courage to explore and try.
On the same day, Gao Shiwang, Director of the Industry Development Department of the China Chamber of Commerce of Machinery and Electronics visited our booth and participated in the live broadcast program of the CIIE. Based on his three consecutive years of visits to the CIIE, Director Gao talked about the experience of the exhibition. He said that despite the fact that the global epidemic has not been effectively controlled, China is still holding such a large-scale event as scheduled, which fully demonstrated China’s commitment and responsibility to the international community as a major country also demonstrates China’s self-confidence and determination to continue to open up to the world. Director Gao said that although the CIIE has adopted extremely strict measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 this year, such as participants’ health monitoring 14 days in advance, nucleic acid testing 3 days in advance and providing negative reports, and 100% artificial body temperature during daily admission. All types of personnel on the measurement site must wear masks throughout the process, one person at a table or the same table separated by glass plates during lunch, etc. Director Gao also emphatically introduced the development, existing problems and development trends of China’s electromechanical industry in recent years, especially this year, and he believed that the Central European Logistics Industrial Zone (CELIZ) is a very good project, suitable for small and medium Chinese enterprises, especially for electromechanical enterprises to "going global", to Central and Eastern Europe, to Europe and North America.
On the same day, Pang Jianjun, Deputy Director of Development and Reform Commission of Shanxi Province and Wu Dongsheng, Director of Department of Foreign Investment and Overseas Investment both visited our booth. Director Wu introduced the experience of the exhibition in English when he participated in the live stream program of the CIIE, and made a key recommendation on the investment environment of Shanxi Province and the "going global" situation of enterprises.
On the same day, Kang Shuxia, Deputy General Manager of Henan Airport Group Co., Ltd., Wu Fan, Director of Hefei Chinese-German Innovation Center, and Zhao Xinping, Deputy General Manager of Heilongjiang Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd. and other 20-30 entrepreneurs visited our booth.

On the same day, Zhang Haibo, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Weihai City, Shandong Province, and Qiao Jun, Director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, visited our booth. Secretary Zhang said that Weihai has close economic and trade relations with Japan and South Korea, and that some Japanese and Korean companies can use Weihai and China Railway Express trains to further enter Central and Eastern European and Western European countries.

On the afternoon of the 9th, Ren Hongbin, Assistant Minister of Ministry of Commerce of China, led Zhang Li, Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Department of Ministry of Commerce, and the head of the National Expo Bureau to tour the exhibition. During the tour, the Assistant Minister Ren stayed at our booth for about 15 minutes, watched the exhibition area of the Ministry of Technology and Innovation of Hungary, CECZ and CELIZ exhibition areas, and listened to the report and introduction by General Manager Tian Hongbing. Assistant Minister Ren welcomed and thanked the Hungarian government and CECZ for participating in CIIE this year, and congratulated CECZ for its achievements in epidemic prevention and other aspects in the past year, and expressed its awareness and support for the Central European Logistics Industrial Zone (CELIZ) project. Assistant Minister Ren expressed special concern about the Hungarian National Medal awarded by CECZ, saying "This fully demonstrates the importance of the relationship between the two countries, especially the economic and trade relations, and the recognition of the Hungarian side for the work of CECZ. I hope you will continue the works. We will continue to cooperate and support."
